Software Engineer

Title:Software Engineer

Job Duties

Analyze the business, system, functional requirements/specifications and design documents to formulate the script and develop test plans. Responsible for testing the applications and modifying the scripts using system, integration, user acceptance, defect management. Develop model-based, record and play automation framework using coding languages. Analyze and modify existing code using the Selenium Web Driver and TestNG environment in a timely manner for any application functionality changes. Develop, enhance and maintain Keyword Driven Framework in HP QTP and migrate them to open source tool selenium. Responsible for communication and interaction with other software engineers to ensure clear communications on requirements, development, and issue/defect reporting. Execute production and system integration of web-based applications using white box, black box and automation testing using Selenium or other automated testing tools. Responsible for the documentation and updates throughout the complete software development process. Execute automated application scripts to ensure modified program code meets and does not negatively affect existing code. Responsible for conducting user interface compliance reviews on web applications to make sure that they adhere to departmental standards. Actively participate in architectural designs, database design and agile planning. Follow Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes and Agile Methodology. Generate SQL queries to validate backend application database. Develop user specifications and track defects using Quality Center tools. Participate in daily Scrum meetings to improve the development process. Will work in Tallahassee, FL and/or various unanticipated client sites throughout the U.S. Must be willing to travel and/or relocate.

Job Duties

Design and develop matrix, tabular and parametric reports using SSRS. Design SSRS reports using table filters, single value parameters, multi value parameters and cascading parameters. Performance tune the SQL queries and stored procedures using SQL profiler and the index tuning advisor. Develop and redesign stored procedures for new systems and optimize old stored procedure and functions on production server with improving data load performance by analyzing database design and query plans. Provide training to development teams on how to track, plan and analyze using JIRA and TFS. Create team specific agile process flow in JIRA and TFS to move tasks from one activity to another. Will work in Tallahassee, FL and/or various client sites throughout the U.S. Must be willing to travel and/or relocate.

Responsible for translating application design into product, including programming, testing and implementation tasks. Generate specifications and related unit test plans. Perform application design and debugging. Troubleshoot all technical issues. Extract and analyze XMLs to understand the flow of the data from between multiples components of an application. Implement Test Driven Design (TDD) an advanced approach taken to minimize the number of defects at the end of the development cycle. Plan and design the sprint work. Work on quality analysis with the help of HP Quality Center, Load Runner, RFT and use of Microsoft Excel for automation. Implement design using firm standards. Work with relational databases using SQL Server and Oracle. Perform application development and testing working primarily in Java, HP Quality Center, Load Runner, SQL Server and Oracle. Prepare and maintain related technical documentation. Will work in Tallahassee Fl and/or various client sites throughout the U.S. Must be willing to travel and/or relocate.

Guidewire Test Analyst

Title: Guidewire Test Analyst

Job Duties

Create test strategy, test plans and test scenarios and use a team of testers to test the Guidewire applications including Guidewire Policy Center, Claims Center and Billing Center. Develop and execute formal test plans, test scripts for quality releases. Review and get the test artifacts approved. Perform test execution, defect management and test results reporting and defect closure in Rally/Jira. Deliver on regression, functional, Adhoc, systems and integration testing on some of the programs that are being run for Guidewire policy center, claims center and billing center. Perform major integration using Thunderhead/ Image Now integration. Define and track QA metrics like defect count by stages and cycles, defect creation and closure rates, test productivity - creation and execution. Impart the process knowledge to the testing team members and publish best practices on an ongoing basis.
